It is a great pleasure to announce that the Death Stranding video game directed by Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions, a Japanese independent AAA studio, is getting its sequel. This new release is powered by MetaHuman, and it was formally revealed at The Game Awards 2022. It’s exciting to see already familiar characters like Fragile, Sam and baby BB now back to life again via MetaHuman technology.
More than two years ago, 3Lateral teamed up with the Kojima Productions studio and since then we have established a remarkable collaboration that resulted in even more exciting outcomes. Throughout the work on Death Stranding 2, our experienced service team developed lifelike characters running on MetaHuman standards. For the purpose of this project, we have calibrated MetaHuman facial assets with additional likeness data derived from 4D scans and scan-based texture sets.
